Hi there! Welcome to Live For Excellence Academy, brought to you by my business Live For Excellence Productions.
I would expect you want to know more about me and why you should enroll in any of the on-line courses I offer.
I’ve lived in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada for the past 30 years. Kelowna is located in the south-eastern portion of the province, not too far from the Canada/USA border.
As a Registered Nurse working in psychiatry/mental health for over 40 years, I’ve spent a lot of time studying human nature, what works and what doesn’t and in turn, applying it to my own self-development and sharing the lessons learned with others.
A couple of decades back I learned and embraced a principal known as CANEI (Continuous and Never-Ending Improvement) as promoted by thought leaders such as Tony Robbins and I bring that philosophy to each of my publications and presentations.
I have dedicated the latter segment of my journey through life to overcoming my personal inhibitions. As a 25+ year member of Toastmasters International I have systematically built my self-confidence and communicating ability. I am passionate about sharing my lessons with my readers and listeners. My publications thus far are of the self-help, self-improvement genre and systematically offer valuable sage advice on specific topics.
My writing and speaking style can be described as being conversational. As an author and content creator, I strive to have a one-to-one conversation with each of my readers and students, very much like having your own personal self-development coach. I’m known for having a wry sense of humour that features in my publications… or so I’m told 😊
My first series of course offerings here at Live For Excellence Academy are based on a program I developed entitled You’re Hired! Job Search Strategies That Work. There are also a series of books based on the same program.
Oddly enough, the main program course was created first, with the series of books being created afterwards.
I was working on a book about self-promotion for business professionals and I was focusing on a chapter about networking, another subject I had written a book about i.e. Power Networking for Shy People: Tips & Techniques for Moving From Shy to Sly! As I was writing a section about the value of networking for job searchers I realized there was way too much content for a single chapter, which lead to creating an entire program on job searching skills.
I had created a course years ago on job searching skills back when I had a training business. When I went through it, I found that much of the advice was out of date. What worked ‘back in the day’ no longer works.
Researching the topic of job searching was a learning experience for me as well. Once upon a time your resume was a compilation of everything you had ever done… and of course how wonderful you were of were. Well, mine certainly was! As well, your Linkedin profile was like having your resume on steroids.
All that has changed. We delve deeper into the changes within the courses.
I’m also a Top Writer @ Quora.com for 2018. You can check out my profile . and follow me for more sage advice on job searching, networking, public speaking, self-confidence, overcoming shyness and many other topics of interest.
